My mother always advice me not to take heavy meals just before bedtime. The reason is because if you do that, you are mostly likely end up fat. Although I don’t do this, do you think there’s any logical explanation behind this?

It's because you need some kind of body activity to burn your body fat. When you are sleeping, your body is rest, no other activities.
You will get fat easier if you eat big heavy meals at night or before bedtime.
Stay cold can burn your body fat.

Ya there is a logical explanation.....The food we eat during day time is actually in the form of glucose which is consumed instantly as we do some work (both physically and mentally)...on the other hand when u sleep all the glucose produced is not used for any major activities and so is converted into fat for storing.....and one shld not prefer havng heavy supper _________________ I hate it

Actually food takes some time for being digest .If you not having sufficient time to provide it to digest then it does invert reaction in our body. Some times we caused by indigestion and more thing occurs with this.

It can.
1) Eating late is not good cause your metabolism has slowed down for sleep
2) You have already consumed all your calories for the day and now you are throwing in extra between days
3) You are losing sleep which is unhealthy
4) You are "midnight snacking"
They say it does but that will depend on your metabolism if its highthen No,if its low and you gain weight easily then yes.No one shouldhave to go to bed hungry,even on a diet so eat fruit not fattening.
