I don't wear shoes at home and all my family members also do that. We have a strict rule that visitors are supposed to leave their shoes outside. There are some household families who don’t do that and I think it’s important to be barefoot so that you don’t carry the dirt inside your house. _________________ All About Aquarium Fish

Thats a good idea to not allow your visitors bring their shoes inside your house so that no dirt gets in but what about the dirts that you already have in your house?Don't they get inside your body through your legs when you remain barefooted?I think so.So it's always better to use some shoes or sandals for your home use.

My house mates don't wear shoes while inside because things will get very messy quickly. I prefer wearing socks so that it's cleaner on the floor and also on my feet. I'm very particular or concern about the slightest thing about hygiene.
