You can submit your pages to popular social bookmark sites (digg.com, del.icio.us, ...). I submited one of my post to digg.com and I got about 6 visitors from digg.
Many Webmaster forums have the "Review Websites" Forum, you can post a review there, and have people review your site.
You can post replies, post comments on blogs, forums like this, and have a link to your site at the bottom. If people find it interested, they click on it.
I hate to get visitors like that. bad ways.
Continue to write your website contents, interested stuffs, offer stuffs that will keep your visitors from coming back. Have people sites link to your index page (more backlinks, rank higher in search engines). You want to get visitors from SEARCH ENGINES, not from referring sites.

They visit your site for what they are looking for
Some sites pop two, three other sites under, and that is really annoy. I don't even take a look at them but close them all included the site that pops them up.
But you can put your banners on related, popular sites. That is easiser look for your eyes and you really get right visitors who would like to check your site out.
