I heard that Perl is the most popular programming language uses to write web applications like auto upgrade a user account, secure the web, databases.....
Can it uses to write other programs, like video game, clock, anti virus....?

PERL or common gateway interface was once the most populat lanquage online, but it was and is a bitch to get running. so in alot of respects php took its place. I used to code in it, back in the day. I wrote this neat quote system which worked like a ecommerce package, you had a database of products, in this case a flatfile db, and you selected the dimensions and so on with dropdowns and instead of buying it and paying, it submitted it to the company for a quote. It was neat, it even did shipping calculations.
