Why my cellphone always run out of battery?

I charged my cellphone all night, but after one call it is out of battery again.
it doesn't happens like this before, I can only make one or two calls, either someone called me or I called them. The cellphone will makes beep sounds and automatically turned off itself.
I can use it to take pictures, view text messages without worrying about the battery, ... but if it's a call then it ran out of battery quick in less than 4 mins, the cellphone is so warm when I hold it in my hand.
What could be wrong? time to get a new cellphone?
